About Jennifer

I am a storyteller, with pictures. I look beyond straightforward representation to make photographs that are interesting and beautiful – and that stimulate the senses. Some of my favorite stories are food stories.

I was trained as a photojournalist (I have a master’s degree from the University of Missouri), and I worked as a staff photographer at the Star Tribune in Minneapolis, MN and Minnesota Public Radio News. I love meeting new people. I know how to put them at ease in front of the camera and how to be in the right place at the right time to capture meaningful moments. Most recently, I attended several video workshops to add to my storytelling skill set.

When I am not making photographs, I enjoy morning runs around the Minneapolis lakes; weekend trips to the farmers market; and spending time with my husband Ken. I am a wine enthusiast with a WSET Level 3 in Wines certification. I love to cook, garden, needle felt and travel. And although I love the snow, I dream of living along the ocean in Hawaii.

I am an avid reader and write a blog, called “Bookworm,” in which I pair books with wine.
